Change your email or password
What you can change
Your email address and password belong to your one Nourva account, so a change you make in the app or on the web counts on every device. Your plan, credits and chats stay with your account.
- Your email changes once you confirm it: with a 6-digit code in the app, or with a link on the web.
- Your password changes in a few taps. If you made your account with Apple, Google or GitHub, you can set a password too, so you can also sign in with your email.
- A forgotten password is replaced through a reset link we email you.
Change your email in the app
On iPhone, iPad and Android:
- Tap ⋯ at the top, then Settings › Account.
- Tap Email.
- In Change your email, enter the new address. If the screen also asks for your Password or an Authenticator code, enter them.
- Tap Send Code.
- Enter the 6-digit code we sent to the new address, then tap Change Email.
You see Your email is changed, and from then on you sign in with the new address. We also email your old address to tell it about the change.
If your account has no password and no two-factor authentication, as is usual for an account made with Apple, Google or GitHub, you get two codes. The screen shows Step 1 of 2: enter the code sent to the address you use now and tap Continue, then enter the code sent to the new address and tap Change Email.
- Other devices are signed out. The device you made the change on stays signed in. Sign in again on the others with the new address.
- A code didn't arrive. Check the new address's inbox, then tap Resend Code once its short wait ends. When the button reads No more codes, tap Use a Different Email to start again.
- A code was wrong or ran out. The screen tells you how many tries are left. Each code works for a limited time. After too many wrong tries, or once a code expires, the app takes you back to the first step with your new address still filled in, so tap Send Code again.
- The app says Set a password first. Your account signs in only with its email address, so it needs a password before the address can change. Tap Set a Password: it opens nourva.ai, where you ask for a reset link and choose a password. Then come back and change your email.
Change your email on the web
- Sign in at nourva.ai and open Account settings in your dashboard.
- In Profile, next to Email address, choose Change.
- Enter the New email address and your Current password. If two-factor authentication is on, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app too.
- Choose Request email change.
- Open the link we send to the new address. It works for a limited time.
Until you open the link, your current address stays active, and the page shows Pending verification with the new address.
Change is there for accounts made with an email and password. If you made your account with Apple, Google or GitHub, the page says your provider manages this email; change it in the app instead, as above.
Change or set your password
A password needs at least 8 characters, in the app and on the web.
In the app
- Tap ⋯ at the top, then Settings › Account.
- Tap Password.
- Enter your Current password, then your New password, and type it again in Repeat new password.
- Tap Save Password. The app confirms Your new password is saved.
If you made your account with Apple, Google or GitHub, the screen asks only for the new password, twice. Once it is saved, you can also sign in with your email and that password.
On the web
- Open Account settings.
- In Password, choose Change password. If you made your account with Apple, Google or GitHub, the button reads Set a password, and the form asks only for the new password, twice.
- Enter your Current password, your New password and Confirm new password. If two-factor authentication is on, enter the 6-digit code too.
- Choose Save password.
When you change your password on the web, you are signed out everywhere. Sign in again with the new password.
If you forgot your password
- On the sign-in screen, enter your email address and continue to the password step.
- Tap Forgot password?. The button then reads Reset link sent.
- Open the email we send you and follow the link to choose a new password. The link works for a limited time.
On the web, choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter your email address; the same kind of link arrives. If nothing comes, check that you typed the address you signed up with.
If you made your account with Apple, Google or GitHub, you don't need a password: sign in with that same button. Apple sign-in works only in the iPhone and iPad app, so if you made your account with Apple, set a password on your iPhone or iPad first, as above, to sign in anywhere else.
