Think a decision through

Talk a hard message, a negotiation, a contract or a career choice through with the Consultant, attach your documents, rehearse the conversation and keep the answer as a Word file.

What Think with me is

Think with me is the fourth tool on the home screen of The Office, under the line A decision, a negotiation, or a big meeting. There you talk with the Consultant, an advisor that answers with structure first, then specifics, and gives you wording you can copy as it stands whenever the wording matters.

  1. Open The Office and tap Think with me.
  2. Pick a situation if one fits.
  3. Type your question in the box marked Consult me and send.

The answer is laid out with headings, lists and tables where they help, and it comes in the language you wrote in. The Consultant works from what you tell it and what you attach. It does not search the web, so for live facts ask Arachne. You need to be signed in, and every answer is more than a basic chat, so it uses your credits. See Levels and credits.

Pick a situation

Under The situation the room shows six situations. Tap one and the Consultant knows what you are doing, so the answer is shaped for it. Tap it again to clear it. Choose before your first message: once the talk starts, the situation stays on a tag above it for the whole session.

SituationUse it when
Hard messageYou must deliver bad news, a refusal, an escalation or an apology. The answer ends with wording ready to send.
NegotiationYou are preparing to negotiate pay, a contract, a supplier or a deadline. It sets out your position and your fallback, rehearses objections and gives you phrases.
Performance reviewYou are writing a review and want feedback that is honest, specific and aimed at growth, or you received one and want to answer it professionally.
Contract reviewYou want a contract read clause by clause, with risks and unusual terms in plain language and questions to ask. It is general guidance, not legal advice.
Career decisionYou face a work decision. It lays out options, criteria, trade-offs and risks, gives a recommendation with its reasons and a first step you can undo.
Rehearse the talkYou want to practise a conversation with a boss, client, candidate or supplier.

Once you pick a situation, Start with one of these shows three starter questions for it. Tap one and it is sent at once.

Attach your documents

  1. Tap + in the box.
  2. Choose Photos, Camera or Files.
  3. Pick what you want the Consultant to read.
  4. Type your question and send.

The names of your attachments appear under your message. The Consultant treats them as the main evidence, quotes the passages it relies on and says plainly when something you ask about is not in them.

  • One message takes a limited number of attachments, with a separate limit for the documents among them. The app tells you when you reach either limit.
  • It reads PDFs, Word and Excel files, decks, text files and pictures. Of the pictures in one message, only the first few are read.
  • It reads only the first part of each document. For a long contract, attach the clauses you care about.
  • If a file cannot be read, the app says Some files couldn't be read — sent what could be read.

On a scan's result in Scan a paper, Ask the consultant attaches the scanned text here as a document. See Scan a paper.

Rehearse a conversation

Choose Rehearse the talk and say who the Consultant should be. It plays that person, stays in the role and pushes back the way a real person would, then steps out of the role to coach you with concrete points.

  1. Tap Rehearse the talk.
  2. Tell it the person and your goal, or tap a starter.
  3. Answer as you would in the room, in the box marked Reply….
  4. When you are done, ask it how you did.
Example
Be a hesitant customer while I persuade you — then grade me

Keep and use an answer

Under each answer, tap the copy icon to copy it, or the ⋯ button (More) for three choices.

  • Share sends the answer as text.
  • To a document builds a Word file from the answer. The app says Building the Word file — it opens automatically when done, then Delivered. The file shows under the answer, opens if you are still in the room and is kept in My files. Making it uses credits. If another request is still running, the app asks you to wait for it.
  • Open in the workspace opens the answer on the Make me a file desk as a file, so your next request there works on it.

To end an answer while it is still arriving, tap Stop and confirm. The app says Stopped — your question is kept, and the half answer is dropped.

Past sessions

Your conversations are kept on this phone, for your account. The first time you open Think with me after starting the app, your last conversation moves to Past sessions and the room starts clean. To start a new one yourself, tap + and choose New desk.

  1. Tap + in the box and choose Past sessions.
  2. Tap a row to bring that session back. Your current conversation is saved first.
  3. To remove one, swipe its row sideways and tap Delete. The app says Deleted.

Each row shows your first question, then the situation and when it happened. The list holds your latest sessions, and an empty list reads No saved sessions yet.
