Choose how deeply Nourva thinks
What the Think dial does
Think sets how much effort Nourva puts into an answer. A higher step lets it think longer and write a deeper, longer reply.
Leave Think at Off for everyday questions. Turn it up when the answer is worth waiting for: a decision with trade-offs, a plan with many parts, a calculation, or a question you want worked through step by step.
Set it for a message
- In a chat, tap + beside the box.
- Tap Think and choose a step: Light, Balanced or Deep. On Android, each tap on Think moves to the next step, and after Deep it goes back to Off.
- Check the step beside Think, then write your message and send it.
Think is Off when you start a new chat, and it stays on the step you chose until you change it. It works together with Search: you can have both on for the same message.
Think belongs to ordinary answers. Choosing Create image, Create voice or Create song turns it off, and turning Think on leaves those.
Which step to pick
| Step | Choose it when | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Off | The question is simple or you want a fast answer. | The quickest reply, kept compact. |
| Light | You want a little more care than a quick reply. | A short stretch of thinking and a somewhat fuller answer. |
| Balanced | The question has several parts or needs a comparison. | More thinking and a fuller answer. |
| Deep | The problem is hard and you would rather wait for a better answer. | The most thinking, the deepest and longest answer, and the longest wait. |
A higher step takes more time before the reply starts, and a written piece, such as a report or a comparison, runs longer.
See what is on
While Think is on, a small plate with a brain mark sits above the box, so you know your next message will think. To see the step or change it, open + again. Choose Off and the plate goes away.
Deep under Search is a different setting: that deep research thinks as hard as it can, whatever Think shows.
Thinking and credits
A basic chat is a text message with no search, thinking, file, picture or voice. A message with thinking is more than a basic chat, so it uses credits.
- Starter: thinking runs on credits Nourva gives you. If you have none, tapping Think shows Needs credits, with See plans. Your free basic chats still work.
- Professional, Ultimate and Max: in the app, a message with thinking that falls inside your free chats for the day costs only the difference over a basic chat.
- Without an account: you can chat only, so Think is not available.
To see how many free chats you have left today, open Settings › Subscription & usage and look under Today. For how credits are used and bought, see How credits work.
