Start from what's going on

Begin with a moment from your life, a goal in steps, an example to change or a ready meeting, and the right employees come to it.

Pick a way to start

You do not need to know which employee to ask. Open Hiring in the bar and scroll below the people: each starting point there brings the right employees to what you want done.

Start from a moment

What's going on? says “Start from your moment. The right people come to it.” The moments are Something broke, A trip coming up, Looking for a job, A big money decision, My business is stuck, Homework tonight, Cooking for a crowd, A plant is dying, Getting back in shape and A contract to sign.

  1. Tap the moment that fits.
  2. Tap the employee you want. Each row names one, what they cover and a first line; Something broke offers Nora for wiring and Jack for the car.
  3. Finish the line waiting in their desk's box, and send it.
Example
Why does my breaker keep tripping?

Nothing is sent for you. If they are not on your team yet, the desk shows Hire Nora (with their name) first; once they join, the line is in the box.

Follow a program

A program is one goal in steps: “Each step is a normal job, call or meeting, billed as it is today. You start every step.”

ProgramWithSteps
Land the job in 30 daysEmmaCV, cover letter, mock interview by video, salary talk by call
Open a caféOmar, Marco, MiaGo or wait, a costed menu, first customers, a meeting of all three, the opening month
Your first 5KMaxWhere you start by call, four weeks of runs, food, race week
Redo one roomLily, Nora, SophieLayout, safe wiring, what to buy, the weekend plan
  1. Tap a program to see its steps. Each is marked A piece, Call · 10 min, Video call · 20 min or Meeting · minutes.
  2. Tap Start step 1.

Then, by step:

  • A piece: the desk opens with the step's words in the box. Finish the line and send; it counts as done when they deliver it.
  • A call or video call: the call begins. If that person is not on your team, the app says “Emma joins your team first. Tap again to start.”
  • A meeting: anyone missing joins, and the meeting opens with the step's first line in the box.

A finished step shows a check, and the button moves on, such as Start step 2. At the end you see “Every step is done.” and Start over. Progress is kept on this phone, and the home shows where you are, such as “Step 2 of 4 · A cover letter that sounds like you”.

Take an example, make it yours

Take an example, make it yours says “Change the blanks. They make the rest.” The examples are A trip, day by day, A CV for the job you want, Is this quote fair?, A dinner party, A month of posts and A contract, clause by clause.

  1. Tap an example. Its fields arrive filled with a sample, such as Where, When and Budget for the trip.
  2. Replace each value with yours, and clear any you do not need.
  3. Tap Make it with Adam (or whoever makes that example).

You get lists what comes back. One message goes to their desk: the example's name, then each field you filled in. For a CV or a contract, the field reads “I will attach it on the desk”: attach the file there after it sends. If needed, the page says Adds Adam to your team, and they join as it sends.

To see finished work first, use See what they make. Each card is marked Example, such as “Istanbul · 4 slow days” by Adam, and opens a full sample report. Under For you, tap a detail to try another answer, or In your own words to open their desk.

Put a team on it

Put a team on it holds ready meetings: “Three seats, one table, minutes with owners and dates.”

MeetingSeatsIt covers
Open a caféOmar, Marco, MiaGo or wait, a costed menu, a launch plan
Move to a new cityAdam, Emma, JamesWhere to live, the job hunt, the lease
Launch my shop onlineOliver, Sara, MiaKeywords, a month of posts, the first buyers
Fix up the houseLily, Nora, SophieThe plan, the wiring, what to buy
  1. Tap a meeting.
  2. Tap Open the meeting. Anyone missing joins, and the app names them.
  3. Send the first line waiting in the box, addressed to everyone, or change it first.

They answer in turn, most relevant first. When you end the meeting, the secretary writes the minutes: what was decided, who owes what, and by when. Only one meeting is open at a time; if one is, the page offers Go to the meeting.

Hand them something, or read a tip

Hand them anything shows what you send and what comes back:

  • An old CV to Emma: Rebuilt for the role
  • A photo of the quote to Jack: Fair or not, line by line
  • A photo of the leaves to Chloe: What is wrong, and the fix
  • A photo of your fridge to Marco: Tonight's dinner, from it
  • A lease, as a PDF to James: Three clauses flagged

Tap a card and that desk opens with words such as “Here is my fridge. What can I cook tonight?” in the box; attach your photo or file and send. It shows until you hire your first employee.

Tips from the team are short lines from Jack, Chloe, Emma, Adam and Marco; a tap opens that desk.

Who joins and what it costs

Make it with, Open the meeting and a program's call, video call or meeting step add anyone missing to your team. A moment, a card you hand over and a piece step open the desk instead, where you hire them first.
