Standing tasks and watches
Set one up in plain words
A standing task is a job Arachne runs for you again and again, on a schedule or when something happens.
- Tap ⋯ in Arachne, choose Tools and open Standing tasks under Running.
- In the box, say what you want and when, in your own words. One message can hold several tasks.
- She shows What I understood: each task with its schedule. Tap Keep them to save them, or Cancel.
Every morning at 7, a short brief of my day and the news I followKeeping a task is your approval: each run goes ahead without a card for what the task names, and payments are never part of it. See What she asks you first.
You can also ask in her box during any mission. She adds the task to Standing tasks herself, and it works like any other.
How often it runs
| You say | Its card shows |
|---|---|
| Every morning at 7 | Daily · 07:00 |
| Every Sunday at 9 | Weekly · Sunday · 09:00 |
| At 6 this evening | Once · 18:00 |
| Every 30 minutes | Every 30 min |
- Times are in your local time. If you name no time, she picks a morning time for you.
- A repeating task has a minimum gap between runs.
- A one-time task runs the next time the clock reaches its hour, then shows completed.
- All your tasks and watches together have a daily limit on runs. Once that is reached, any other run due that day is skipped, and they carry on the next day.
Watches
A watch waits for something to happen, then runs its task. Say what to watch and what to do when it happens.
| Watch | Its card shows | It is triggered when |
|---|---|---|
| A page | Page sentinel | The page changes, or a word or phrase you name appears on it. |
| A price | Price watch | A stock, a coin or another market price goes above or below the figure you name. |

When a task runs
Each run is a full mission on Auto, paid from your credits like any other mission.
- When it ends, a notification carries the task's name with Open Nourva to see the result, or It did not finish — open Nourva to try again.
- When a watch is triggered, you also get a notice saying what it saw, such as the price it reached.
- Each card shows its Last run and how it went, or Hasn't run yet.
- Runs lists the latest runs. Tap Full report to read what she did; it stays available for a while.
- Today shows what is due today, each with Run now, and what already ran, each with What happened.
If a task must act through an account you have not linked, such as posting for you, its card shows needs an account. Link it in Connections.
Pause, change or remove one
Each task's card holds its controls:
- Run now runs it at once. It starts shortly. Watches don't have it.
- Pause stops it until you tap Resume.
- Edit opens the task's own words: change what she should do and send it.
- Delete, then Confirm, removes it.
To change when a task runs, tell her in her box, for example "Move my morning brief to 8".
You can keep a limited number of tasks and watches at once, and more on Ultimate and Max. Paused ones count; completed ones don't. At the limit, the app says The rota is full — delete one first.
