Price alerts

Set an alert on any market in the Financial Market, choose its price by dragging, typing or stepping, and get a notification when the price reaches it.

What an alert does

A price alert watches one market for you. You pick a price, and Nourva sends you a notification when the market reaches it. Use it when you want to know about a level without keeping the chart open.

Alerts live in the Financial Market, on the Alerts tab next to Markets, Watchlist and Analyst. You need to be signed in. Nourva watches prices. It never places trades.

Start a new alert

You can start an alert from four places:

  • Alerts tab: tap New alert, then choose the market in Search.
  • A market's own page: tap the bell button.
  • Watchlist: swipe a row and tap its bell button.
  • A market's page, under Nourva's read: tap Alert at S1 to start at that support level. The button shows when the read has found one.

Each opens the New alert sheet. It shows the market and its price now, a chart of recent prices, and a bell on the chart at the level you are setting. A new alert starts a little above the price now, or at S1 when you came from Alert at S1.

Choose the price

The bell marks the level you are waiting for. Move it in any of these ways.

WayWhat you do
DragDrag the bell up or down on the chart.
TypeTap the price under the chart and type the one you want.
StepTap the minus or plus button beside the price to move it one small step.

Under the price, a row of chips moves the level to a useful number: Prev close, 52W high and 52W low, plus S1 and R1 when Nourva's read of that market has found them.

Then finish the alert:

  1. Check the line under the price. It says whether the alert waits for the market to go above or below the level, and how far that level is from now.
  2. Tap Set alert.

A message confirms it: Alert set, with the market, the side and the price. A level above the price now waits for the market to rise to it; a level below waits for it to fall. To leave without saving, tap Cancel.

See and change your alerts

Open the Alerts tab. The top line counts your alerts, for example "2 armed · 1 triggered", and two chips split the list: Armed and Triggered, each with its count. Each armed row shows the market, Above or Below with its price, and how far the market is from that level.

  • To change an alert, tap its row, or swipe the row and tap the pencil button. In Edit alert, change the price, then tap Save.
  • To move an alert from a market's chart, drag its bell to a new price. Nourva saves it and confirms with Alert set.
  • To remove one, swipe the row and tap the bin button, or tap Delete in Edit alert. A message says Alert deleted, and for a few seconds Undo arms the same alert again.

When an alert fires

Nourva keeps an eye on your alerts. When the market reaches your price, you get a notification that names the market and its price. The alert fires once, then moves from Armed to Triggered, where it shows the price it crossed and when. Nourva clears triggered alerts after a while, and you can delete one sooner.

If notifications for Nourva are off, the alert still fires and moves to Triggered. When you next open the Financial Market, a short message and a badge on the Alerts tab tell you what fired.

You can keep a limited number of armed alerts. At the limit, the app tells you so. Delete an armed alert you no longer need, then try again.
