Browse and research the web

Arachne searches and reads the web for you, works real pages in her own browser, and lets you watch, step in or hand her a page.

How she researches

Ask a question the web can answer, and Arachne searches, opens and reads the pages that matter, and answers from what they say, with her sources. She also reads live data on stocks, coins, currencies, commodities, places and their reviews, companies, flights, hotels and weather.

Example
Compare the battery life of the three newest flagship phones from their reviews, with sources

She works real pages in Nourva's cloud browser, so she can also act on a site: look something up in its search, open its pages, fill a form or add to a basket. Anything that would act in your name still waits for your tap; see What she asks you first.

Big questions

For a big question, two modes help. Plan first shows you her plan before anything runs, and Report brings a full written report with tables and sources. Both are under Mode in the + of her box; see Her brain, thinking and way of working.

When a big job splits into parts that do not depend on each other, she can send several helpers. Each helper works one part on the same brain and your credits, and whatever it makes arrives on her board as a card. Helpers never pay for media and never take a step that needs your tap.

Watch her browser

While she works on a site, you can watch her browser and step in:

  • On the Board, tap Live on the Her screen card. On the Line, tap Take control. In the Terminal, type /watch.
  • Tap the page to click and drag to scroll. Type types into the page, Back goes back a page, and Save shot keeps a picture of it.

Hand her a page

You can open a page yourself, get it ready, then pass it to her, for example after you sign in.

  1. Tap ⋯, choose Tools and open Live under Running.
  2. Under Hand me a page, tap Open a page and type the address. The page comes up on your screen.
  3. Tap and scroll it as you need. When it is ready, tap Hand to Arachne.
  4. She carries on from that page and comes back with the outcome. She puts it back on your screen only when she needs your hands, such as for a sign-in, a payment or a check meant for people.

Tap End to close a page you opened.

Sites that turn her away

Some sites refuse automated visitors or stop her with a check meant for people. She never tries to get past such a check. She tries another honest route to the same result, such as the place's own page or another service, and if none works, she tells you plainly and leaves that step to you. A booking on such a site may not complete.
