Board, Line or Terminal
Three faces, one Arachne
Arachne can show her work in three ways. All three run the same Arachne with the same sessions, so the face you pick changes only how her work looks.
| Face | What it shows | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Board | Cards and stickers: the plan, each step, the files and reports she makes, and the cards that need your tap. | Following a mission at a glance. |
| Line | A thread you keep talking in: your messages and her replies, with her steps folded under each turn. | Back and forth, like a chat. |
| Terminal | Commands and a live log: gray lines on black, one prompt and the «/» commands. | Typing commands and reading every step. |
The Terminal is always dark, whatever your app theme. The Board and the Line follow the app, light or dark.
Switch faces
- In Arachne, tap ⋯ and choose Customize.
- Under Face, tap Board, Line or Terminal.
Switch whenever you like: a mission that is running carries over to the new face and keeps going. In the Terminal, you can also type /board or /line.
The Terminal's commands
In the Terminal, type / to open the command list, then tap a command, or type it in full and send it. Each command works a real control. The top line shows her brain, thinking level, approvals and mode, and tapping it opens her settings.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/plan | Plan first: she thinks and reads before acting. |
/report | Report: you get a document instead of a thread. |
/direct | Direct: she acts right away. |
/brain | Opens her settings to pick the brain. |
/stop | Stops the run. |
/watch | Opens her live browser. |
/steps | Opens the steps, files and log of this board. |
/files | Opens the files of this board. |
/new | Starts a new board. |
/board | Switches to the Board face. |
/line | Switches to the Line face. |
/history | Lists every past board. |
/settings | Opens her settings: face, brain, approvals and mode. |
Her settings also hold Tune Arachne, for the full brain, thinking and trust screen, and All boards. See Her brain, thinking and way of working.
Steps, files and the log
Every board keeps a steps sheet with three tabs:
- Tasks shows her plan, each step marked done, running or next.
- Files lists the files of this board.
- Log lists every step with its time.
To open it on the Board or the Line, tap ⋯ under a finished turn and choose Steps. In the Terminal, type /steps, or /files to go straight to the files.
Watch her browser
When she works on a website, you can watch her browser as she goes. On the Board, a card called Her screen shows the page she is on: tap Live to watch, or Stop to end the mission there. On the Line, tap Open on the line that shows her current step. In the Terminal, type /watch. See Browse and research the web.
