Write for me

Write a letter or contract from a template, reply to a message, polish a text, work through several files at once, and turn any draft into a Word file or a PDF.

What Write for me does

Write for me is the second tool on the Office home, under the line A reply, a letter, or words that need order. Open The Office on the bottom bar, then tap Write for me. It has six desks:

You need to be signed in. A draft is not a basic chat, so it runs on your credits.

You can also skip the desks: type a request in the box on the Write for me page, which reads What shall I write for you?, and send it. Nourva takes the kind of document from your words.

Write something new

  1. Tap Write new.
  2. Choose a template. Each one has a one-line description.
  3. Under Writing, change Tone, Length, Output language or Second language if you want to.
  4. Under Attachments, tap Attach documents if you have facts to draw from. Their text is read as reference for facts and figures.
  5. Type the details in the box and send.
Example
Offer letter for Lina Haddad, Sales Manager, starts 1 March, 30 days' notice, probation 3 months

The templates sit in six groups:

GroupTemplates
MeetingsMeeting minutes, Meeting agenda
MailFormal letter, Professional email
HRJob offer, Job description, Performance review, Resignation letter, Cover letter
LegalContract, NDA, Policy & procedures, Scope of work
BusinessInternal memo, Business proposal, Report, Form, SOP, Project charter, Business plan, Executive summary
MarketingPress release, Case study

Tone is Formal, Friendly or Firm, and starts on Formal. Length is Short, Standard or Detailed, and starts on Standard. Output language starts on Auto, which writes in the language of your details. Second language starts on None; pick one and the draft holds the complete document in the output language, then a faithful mirror in the second. Reply and Polish have the same Writing and Attachments sections.

Work with the draft

The draft appears as a page while it is written. Stop ends it after you confirm. When it is done:

  • Tap Full version or Shorter version if the draft comes in two.
  • Under Refine, tap Longer, Shorter, More formal or Simpler, or type a change in the box, which reads Refine it…. Nourva rewrites the whole draft with that change.
  • Tap To Word for a Word file. For a PDF, tap ⋯ and choose To PDF. The same menu has Copy and Share.

The file opens when it is ready, and it is kept in My files. Turning a draft into a file also uses credits.

Your most recent drafts stay on this device under Recent drafts on the Write for me page. Tap one to reopen it, or swipe its row to rename or delete it.

The Files desk

Files works on several files at once. It reads PDFs that contain text, Word, Excel and slides files, and plain text.

  1. Tap Files.
  2. Under What to do, choose Extract fields, Summarize or Suggest names.
  3. Tap Pick files and choose your files.
  4. For Extract fields, type the fields in the box, separated by commas, and send.
  5. Tap Start processing.
Example
date, amount, counterparty

You can add several fields, and the app tells you when you reach the limit; tap a field to remove it. For Summarize, you can type a focus in the box instead and send it, which starts the work with that focus. Each file shows its own state: Waiting, Reading…, Working…, Done, Failed or Couldn't read it.

  • Extract fields builds one table with a row per file. A value Nourva cannot find in a file stays empty, never guessed. Tap To Excel and the workbook is made in Make me a file, or tap Copy CSV.
  • Summarize gives short bullets per file in your app's language, then The combined report. Tap To Word or Copy.
  • Suggest names proposes a name built from date, type and party. Tap Copy beside a name and use it yourself: your phone cannot rename the original files.
