Turn memory on and choose what remembers

Choose where your memory lives, switch it off when you want, and decide which parts of Nourva may remember and recall.

Choose where your memory lives

Your memory has three settings, and you choose between them on one page. Open it like this:

  1. Tap Nourva Mind in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Memory & permissions.
  3. Tap Fully cloud or Fully on-device.
SettingWhat happens
Fully cloudAn encrypted vault for your account alone. It works on all your devices and grows as you use Nourva. The chat, Nourva One, Arachne, the Office and your employees remember and recall.
Fully on-deviceNothing is learned or recalled in the cloud. What you ask Nourva One to remember stays on this device and never leaves it.
Turn memory off completelyNothing is remembered and nothing is recalled, anywhere in Nourva. This button shows while memory is on.

The line at the top of the page says which one you chose. Your choice is saved to your account, so your other devices follow it. For memory across the chat, Arachne, the Office and your employees, choose Fully cloud.

Turning memory off does not delete it. To delete it, see Download or delete your memory.

The first time on a paid plan

On Professional, Ultimate and Max, if you have not chosen yet, memory switches on by itself the first time you use Nourva, as Fully cloud. A card then appears on Memory & permissions and above the Chat and Arachne boxes:

Your memory is on now — encrypted with your key, never trained on, never shared. Arachne and Nourva remember you from here.

Tap Got it to keep it on, or Turn it off to switch memory off for your account.

While memory is off, a strip above the Chat and Arachne boxes reads Memory is off — turn it on for a personal experience. Always encrypted, never used for training, never shared. Tap Turn memory on to open Memory & permissions, or close the strip. Once closed, it stays closed on that device.

Choose what remembers

On Memory & permissions, a switch for each part of Nourva decides whether it may use your memory. Fully cloud turns them all on, and you can turn any of them off.

SwitchWhat it covers
Allows Chat to recallRelevant context only
Let Office rememberDocuments and work history
Allows Arachne to rememberMissions and preferences
Allows One to rememberDecisions, tone and boundaries

Your employees follow Nourva's memory and have no switch of their own. Like the setting above, the switches follow your account to your other devices.

One conversation without memory

For a single chat that leaves no trace, tap ⋯ in the chat, then Use Incognito. The chat shows Incognito — no history, no memory: it keeps no history and adds nothing to your memory. See Chat in Incognito.

On Starter

Starter has no memory. There, Nourva Mind opens Memory & permissions with Memory starts at Professional and the line Upgrade and Nourva keeps your context, style and preferences in an encrypted vault. To move to a plan with memory, see Upgrade or change your plan.

If your plan ends, your memory is closed but not deleted, and it works again when you return to Professional, Ultimate or Max.
