Make a voice note or a song

Turn your words into a spoken voice note, or describe a song and get it back with lyrics that follow the music, right in the chat.

What you can make

In a chat you can make two kinds of audio. A voice note speaks words: the passage you write, or a short script Nourva writes from your description. A song is written and recorded for you from a description: a theme, a mood, an occasion.

Both start in the same place: tap + beside the box, then choose Create voice or Create song. A small mark above the box shows which one is on. Choose the same row again, or start a new chat, to go back to ordinary messages.

Make a voice note

  1. In a chat, tap + and choose Create voice.
  2. Write the words you want spoken, or describe what you need, then send.
  3. When it is ready, a voice note player appears in the reply.
Example
A 20-second welcome for my bakery, in a warm woman's voice

A finished passage is read as you wrote it. From a short description, Nourva writes the words first, and you can say how long it should be and whether you want a man's or a woman's voice. Only your text is read: a file you attach is not, and if you send a file with no words, Nourva asks you to write them.

On the player you can:

  • Tap play to listen, or tap the waveform to jump to a point.
  • Tap the speed button to step through 1×, 1.5× and 2×.
  • Tap Transcript to read the words as they are spoken. The word being said is underlined as it plays.
  • Open the file card under the player to save or share the recording.

A voice note has a length limit. If you write more, only the first part is read and a note under the reply says so.

Make a song

  1. In a chat, tap + and choose Create song.
  2. Describe the song and send. You can give a theme, a mood, an occasion, who should sing (a man, a woman or a duet), or ask for an instrumental with no vocals.
  3. Watch it come together: Writing the words, then Recording the song.
Example
A cheerful birthday song for my sister, who loves the sea

Nourva writes original words first, in the language you ask for or the one you write in, and then records the song to them. You get one song card with its title, its length and Made by Nourva.

Tap Lyrics on the card to read the words. The line being sung is marked as the song plays, and you can tap any line to jump there. Save, Share and Make another sit under the lyrics.

An instrumental has no singing and no lyrics, so the card shows More instead of Lyrics, with the same three buttons under it.

Not quite right? Tap Make another. Nourva sends your request again and makes a new song from it.

Credits, limits and how long files last

A voice note or a song is more than a basic chat, so it uses credits. A basic chat is a text message with no search, thinking, file, picture or voice.

  • Starter: they run on credits Nourva gives you. If you have none, Nourva shows Needs credits and your free basic chats keep working.
  • Professional, Ultimate and Max: they use your credits, and you can buy more when you need them.
  • Without an account: you can chat only, so voice notes and songs are not available.

Voice notes and songs each have an hourly limit. When you reach it, the app tells you, for example You reached this hour's song limit. Try again soon.

Voice notes and songs are kept for a limited time. After that the player says This recording has expired and can't be played. Save the ones you want to keep. You can ask again, but you get a new recording, not the same one back.

When a song doesn't come back

The app says what went wrong in plain words:
