Find your way around

Learn what the bar at the bottom, Nourva One's seat at the top and the ⋯ menu each open, and how the iPad and the web fit together.

How the screen is laid out

Every screen in the Nourva app has three parts. The bar at the bottom has one seat for each part of Nourva. Nourva One's seat sits at the top, and the ⋯ button is at the top right. To go somewhere else, tap a seat. A sideways swipe never changes the screen, so a swipe only scrolls what is under your finger.

This guide describes the app on iPhone and iPad. Android phones and tablets show the same screens.

The six seats on the bar

The seats are always in this order, from left to right:

SeatOpen it when you want
ChatTo ask a question, write something or talk a problem through. Nourva opens here.
The OfficeA Word, Excel, deck or PDF file made or changed for you.
ArachneA job that takes several steps, such as researching or comparing. She works in the cloud.
HiringA team of experts you can ask, each with their own field.
AppsThe Designer, the Financial Market and Nourva Drop.
Nourva MindNourva's memory of you: what it keeps, and where it lives.

The seat you are on stays lit. A page you open from the ⋯ menu, such as Settings or Notifications, opens over the seat you were on, and that seat stays lit.

Nourva Mind needs a plan with memory. On Starter, the seat opens Memory & permissions, which tells you that memory starts at Professional. See Nourva Mind.

Nourva One at the top

Nourva One's seat is in the header of every screen, between the Nourva mark and ⋯. She is Nourva's voice. Tap her seat to talk, or write to her in the same bar. To open her full sheet, hold her icon or pull it down. You need to be signed in to talk to her, and talking uses credits. See Talk to Nourva One.

Two small things can appear near her seat:

  • A greeting. Once each time you open Nourva, a short line reading Talk to Nourva One shows under her icon for a few seconds. Tap its words to start talking, or tap anywhere else to dismiss it.
  • Daily mood. Now and then, a Daily mood card can appear on the Chat home in her place. It asks how you are, and your answer shapes your word for the day on the Nourva Mind screen. See The Mind screen.

The ⋯ menu

Tap ⋯ at the top right of any screen. The menu has two parts. The top rows belong to the screen you are on. The last two rows are the same everywhere: Notifications, then Settings.

On Chat, the page's own rows are:

RowWhat it does
Take a tourWalks you through the whole app. The Designer and the Financial Market have their own tours.
New ChatStarts a fresh conversation.
Use IncognitoStarts a chat that keeps no history and adds nothing to memory.
HistoryOpens your past chats.
Share ChatShares the open conversation as text. It appears only inside a conversation.
CustomizeOpens Appearance in Settings.

Other screens show their own rows in the same place, and a screen with no rows of its own shows only Notifications and Settings.

  • Notifications opens your inbox, where past notifications wait.
  • Settings opens a sheet with your account, plan, appearance and language. See Find your settings.

The Apps screen

The Apps seat opens a screen headed Your spaces. It holds three spaces:

  • The Designer is the large card at the top. It starts from a photo and goes as far as a whole brand.
  • Financial Market shows prices, charts and analysis.
  • Nourva Drop keeps your files across your devices.

Tap one to open it. See Your spaces for what each one does.

On iPad

The iPad runs the same app, with the same six seats. Three things are made for the larger screen:

  • Keyboard shortcuts. With a hardware keyboard, press ⌘1 to ⌘5 to open the first five seats in the bar's order: Chat, The Office, Arachne, Hiring and Apps. Nourva Mind has no shortcut. Nourva One keeps her seat in the header.
  • Split View. Nourva runs side by side with another app.
  • Centred sheets. On a wide screen, Settings, Nourva One's sheet and the Drop and Market sheets open as a centred panel instead of filling the screen.

On the web

You can also sign in at nourva.ai and carry on in a browser. Open your dashboard. The menu on its side lists Overview, Chat, The Office, Arachne, Hiring, Designer, Financial Market and Apps, then your account pages: Plan & credits, Security & devices, Account settings and Support.

Your account, plan and credits are the same as in the app. For the account pages in detail, see Find your settings.
