Show her with your camera or screen

Let Nourva One look through your camera, or follow your whole screen while you work in other apps, and know how to stop each one.

Two ways to show her

While you talk to Nourva One, she can look through your camera or follow your screen. Use the camera when the thing is in front of you: a letter, a label, a broken part. Use screen sharing when it is on your phone, including in apps other than Nourva.

Neither starts on its own: she turns them on only when you ask, in the middle of a conversation. They are part of the conversation, so they need what any talk with her needs: an account and credits. See Talk to Nourva One.

Show her with the live lens

  1. Start a conversation with Nourva One.
  2. Ask her to look, and say what you want to know.
  3. The first time, iOS asks whether Nourva may use the camera. Allow it.
Example
Look at this and tell me what it says

A small camera view opens, marked her live eye. She takes a fresh look as you talk, so you can move the camera and keep talking. She always goes by the newest picture.

  • Switch cameras. Tap ⇄ on the camera view, or ask her to use the front or the back camera.
  • If the camera won't open. If you once refused it, open the iOS Settings app › Nourva and turn on Camera, then ask her again.

If you stay quiet for a while, the lens closes by itself. Ask her to look again when you are ready.

Let her follow your screen

Screen sharing lets her see your whole screen, not only Nourva, so she can follow what you do in other apps. On iPhone and iPad it uses the iOS screen broadcast.

  1. In a conversation, ask her to follow your screen.
  2. She asks first whether she may watch your whole screen. Say yes. She asks once per conversation.
  3. If sharing is not on yet, the iOS broadcast sheet opens. Tap Start Broadcast.
Example
Follow my screen while I fill in this form

While she follows, she stays quiet, like a colleague beside you. She answers when you ask and speaks up only when something worth mentioning changes. In Nourva, a pulsing red dot and a Stop sharing button sit near the top of the screen. Outside Nourva, iOS shows its own red indicator.

Without screen sharing she sees only Nourva's own screens. For anything outside Nourva, start sharing first.

  • After a while she stops following by itself. Ask her again to carry on.
  • If sharing drops, she tells you and stops following. Ask her again to restart it.
  • On Android, sharing starts through Android's own consent dialog each time, a notification stays up while it runs, and what she sees is not stored on Nourva's servers after the session ends.

When the sheet folds

When she opens something for you while the Nourva One sheet is up, such as the camera, a chart, a video, a file, a report or the browser, the sheet folds into the lower part of the screen and what she opened takes the top. You see both, and the conversation carries on.

  • Change the split. Drag the sheet's handle up or down. Nourva keeps your split for that kind of thing next time.
  • Unfold it. Close what she opened, or ask her to close it, and the sheet fills the screen again.
  • Get the sheet out of the way. Tap Lower the sheet, the arrow at its top left. The conversation keeps going. To bring the sheet back, tap the chevron on Nourva One's seat at the top of the screen.

How to stop each

WhatHow to stop it
The live lensSay "Turn off the camera", tap the close button on the camera view, or end the conversation.
Her following your screenTell her to stop following, or end the conversation. The iOS broadcast keeps running until you stop it too.
The screen broadcast itselfTap Stop sharing at the top of Nourva, then confirm on the iOS sheet. You can also stop it from iOS's own broadcast control.

The broadcast can outlast the conversation that started it. As long as it runs, the red dot and Stop sharing stay in Nourva, and they come back when you return to the app.

Why Nourva asks for the camera and for screen broadcast is in Your privacy and device permissions. What happens to your audio and words is in Your voice and privacy.
