Search the web, read a link, get a file

Turn on Search to get answers with sources, paste a link so Nourva reads that page, or ask for a published file and have it attached to the reply.

What you can ask for

Nourva can look things up on the web, read a page you point it to, and find a published document for you. Each one is a different request, and none needs a special screen: you do it from the chat.

  • Search brings current information, with sources you can open.
  • A pasted link makes Nourva read that page and answer from it.
  • A request for a file brings back a real, published file attached to the reply.

Turn on Search

Search is a dial with four levels. It is Off when you start a new chat.

  1. In a chat, tap + beside the box.
  2. Tap Search and choose a level. On Android, each tap on Search moves to the next level, and after Deep it goes back to Off.
  3. Check the level beside Search, then write your message and send it.
LevelChoose it when
OffYou want an answer without a web search.
QuickYou want a fast answer, and a search only if the question needs one.
StandardYou want current information, with sources.
DeepThe question is big enough for real reading and a written report.

While Search is on, a small plate with a globe sits above the box. To see the level or change it, open + again. Choose Off and the plate goes away.

Use the sources

An answer that used the web carries small numbers inside its sentences, and a Sources card under the reply.

  • Tap a number in the text. The sentence it supports lights up, and a bar shows the source's name with Open.
  • Tap the Sources card to unfold the list, then tap a source to read it.

A source opens inside the app, so you stay in your chat.

Deep research

At Deep, Nourva does more than skim results. It reads pages and writes a report with numbered sources. It thinks as hard as it can, whatever Think shows, and it takes longer than the other levels. Use it for a comparison, a decision or a subject you want covered properly.

If the research cannot reach enough sources, Nourva says so at the top of the answer. It does not claim to have searched, and it shows no sources.

Ask for a file

Ask for a document on a public subject, such as a government plan, an annual report or a standard.

Example
Send me the PDF of the company's latest annual report.

Nourva finds a real file, checks that it fits what you asked for, and attaches it to the reply as a file card. If no file fits, it says so. It never presents a file as the one you wanted when it is not.

  1. Tap the file card to open it.
  2. Tap ⋯ and choose Explain it.

Nourva One opens, and she talks you through what the file is and what matters in it. To go further, see Talk to Nourva One.

Save the files you want to keep. A file Nourva fetches stays for a limited time, and after that you ask for it again. In Incognito, a file you ask for comes as links instead of an attachment.

Search and credits

A basic chat is a text message with no search, thinking, file, picture or voice. A message with search is more than a basic chat, so it uses credits.

  • Starter: search runs on credits Nourva gives you. If you have none, the app shows Needs credits, with See plans. Your free basic chats still work.
  • Professional, Ultimate and Max: in the app, a message with search that falls inside your free chats for the day costs only the difference over a basic chat.
  • Without an account: you can chat only, so Search is not available.

To see how many free chats you have left today, open Settings › Subscription & usage and look under Today.
