Add your own model

Connect a model you already pay for and Arachne can think with it, with your key kept encrypted in your vault.

Arachne on your own model

If you already pay for a model, Arachne can think with it. Your key stays on your account, encrypted in your vault. The model's use goes on your own bill with your provider, and Arachne's hands, such as her searches, her browser and the files she makes, cost credits as usual.

Your model appears among her brains under its own name.

Add your model

  1. In Arachne, tap ⋯ and choose Tune.
  2. Under Who thinks for you, tap Add a model.
  3. Paste Your API key and type the Model name and version as your provider writes it. You can also give it a name of your own.
  4. Tap Add. She shows Finding your model…, then Added.

The exact name finds your model at once. If you type the name loosely, finding it takes a few credits.

Set it up by hand

If she cannot tell whose key it is, she says so. Tap Set it up by hand and fill in:

FieldWhat to enter
NameThe name you will see among her brains.
API styleChat completions or Messages, whichever your provider's service uses.
EndpointYour provider's address. It must be a public address that starts with https.
API keyYour key.
Model idThe model's id, as your provider writes it.

Tap Connect. She tests the connection before she saves it and shows Testing the connection…. Connected comes with how fast your model answered and whether it accepts a thinking level. If the key is refused or the address cannot be reached, she tells you which, so you can fix it and try again.

Choose how she uses it

  • As her brain: pick your model under Who thinks for you. Every step of every mission runs on it.
  • Inside Auto: pick Auto and keep your model in Auto. Missions open on your model and move up to a deeper brain when a mission needs it. Only a model that passed its connection test joins Auto.

When your model is her only brain, she does not make Word, Excel, slide or PDF files: your model writes its result itself, and she can still make web pages and CSV, Markdown, JSON and plain text files. For those Office files, choose Auto or one of her own brains.

If your model did not accept a thinking level when it connected, the thinking levels are off while it is the brain.

Change or remove it

In Tune, tap Edit on your model. You can change its name, its place in Auto with Include it or Leave it out, its model or its key. Leave the model or the key empty to keep what you have; a change that needs your key asks you to paste it again.

To remove your model, tap Remove, then tap Remove — tap again. Its key leaves your vault, and if it was her brain, she goes back to Auto.
