Her voice, language and thinking

Choose the voice Nourva One speaks with, the language you talk in and how deeply she thinks, and change her name, dialect or sleep by saying so.

Make her yours

Nourva One has a handful of settings that shape how a conversation feels: the voice you hear, the language you speak together, how much she thinks before answering, and what stays on your screen. They all live in one place, Options, on her sheet. A few more you change by talking: her name, a dialect, and sleep.

To open the sheet, press and hold the bars at the top of any screen, or pull them down. Talk to Nourva One covers the sheet and its controls.

  1. Open the Nourva One sheet.
  2. Tap Options in the bottom row.
  3. The menu is titled Voice & conversation. Tap a row to open it, and tap the back arrow to return.

Choose her voice

The card at the top of Options shows the voice she is using now. Tap it to open Choose a voice. You get one female and one male voice for your language, under Best for and your language's name. Tap one to select it.

Until you choose, she uses the female voice. Changing the voice reconnects the line in a moment, and the conversation carries on.

Choose how she thinks

In Options, tap Thinking and pick Fast, Balanced or Deep. Fast answers soonest. Deep takes longer to start and thinks further into a hard question. Until you choose, the row reads Balanced. Changing it also reconnects the line.

Choose the language you speak together

  1. In Options, open Conversation.
  2. Tap Speaking language.
  3. Pick Automatic, or one language from the list of 20 under A fixed language.

Automatic is the starting choice. She detects the language from your voice and uses the app's language when she is unsure. A fixed language makes her speak it every time. Changing it reconnects the line.

When she is unsure on Automatic, she uses the language set in Settings › Language. See Change the language.

On the same Conversation page, the Conversation text switch shows the words beneath the wave. It starts on.

Presence and session details

Open Presence in Options for two switches, both on at the start:

  • Lock screen card keeps a card on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you are connected, so she stays in view. It appears when a conversation starts.
  • Sound & haptics adds subtle cues: a soft tick when you finish speaking and a tap when she starts.

At the bottom of Options, Session details shows the state, the time Elapsed and the time Remaining, with End session while you are connected. A connection has a time limit.

Reset sets the voice, Thinking, Speaking language and Conversation text back to how they started. It leaves the two Presence switches as they are.

Change things by saying them

Some settings you change by talking to her, with no menu.

  • A new name. Tell her what to call herself. She keeps it as her name from then on, and she answers to it when you call her.
  • A dialect or another language. Ask for it for a moment, or for the rest of the conversation. A request that has no end, such as "always", is kept. When it names one of the 20 languages, it also becomes your Speaking language.
  • Sleep. Ask her to go to sleep. She can stay quiet and listen for her name, close the microphone until you touch her, or end the session. If she sleeps for a while, the session closes to save credits.
Example
From now on, your name is Noor.
Example
Speak Egyptian Arabic for a bit.
Example
Go to sleep.

A bare "stop" or "enough" only cuts off the sentence she is saying. It does not put her to sleep.
