#Getting set up

Nourva is a desktop app for Windows and macOS — open it, sign in, and it keeps itself current from there.

#Overview

Nourva lives on your desktop. It is one assistant with many surfaces — Chat, Arachne, the Shell, Deep Research, Office, and more — all in a single window, ready when you open it. Getting set up means opening Nourva, signing in so your work and memory are yours, and letting it keep itself up to date.

There is nothing to assemble and nothing to configure before you can start. Once you are signed in, you describe the outcome you want in plain language and Nourva does the work. The point of setting up is simply to get you to that first request quickly, with your account and your private memory in place.

#What you need to get going

  • A Windows or Mac machine, where Nourva runs as a desktop app.
  • Your account, which you sign in to so your work, preferences, and memory stay private to you.
  • A moment for any required update, so you start on the latest, most capable version.

#How to use it

  1. Open Nourva. Launch the desktop app. The main window gives you the surfaces and lets you move between them.
  2. Sign in. Use your account so Nourva can keep a memory that is private to you and so your artifacts — documents, research, results — are saved to you and easy to find again later.
  3. Let it update if asked. Nourva keeps itself up to date. New versions arrive smoothly, and sometimes an update is required before you continue so everyone is on a current, supported version. Updating is quick.
  4. Set your appearance and language. Nourva follows your appearance and language settings — pick a theme and let it reply in your language, mirroring its whole layout for right-to-left languages.
  5. Make your first request. Ask for the outcome you want in plain language. Nourva understands the goal, does the work, checks it, and shows you a result you can reuse.
Note

You do not need to know which surface to use up front. Chat is the simplest place to start, and it points you to the right surface — Arachne, Office, Deep Research, and so on — when a job calls for one.

#Tips

  • Sign in early. Your memory and your saved artifacts are tied to your account, so signing in first means Nourva remembers your work and you never start from zero.
  • Accept a required update when prompted — it is quick and keeps you on the most capable version.
  • Set your theme and language right away so Nourva matches your environment from the first task; both adapt cleanly, including right-to-left layouts.
  • Start in Chat if you are unsure where to begin. It is fast and conversational, and it will hand you off to the right surface for bigger jobs.
