#Getting started with Arachne

Describe a real-world outcome, choose how much freedom to give, and watch Arachne work across the live web to deliver it.

#Overview

Arachne is Nourva's hands on the open web. Where Chat gives you an answer, Arachne does the work: it opens real websites and applications, reads and navigates them, gathers and compares information, builds things, and reports back with a result you can use. It is for tasks that need real web pages and real actions, not just a reply.

This page walks you through your first Arachne task from start to finish — opening Arachne, describing an outcome, setting a permission level, watching the work happen live, and reviewing what comes back. The pattern you learn here is the same one you will use for everything Arachne does, from a quick lookup to a long, multi-source research run.

#What you can do

In your first session with Arachne, you can:

  • Describe an outcome in plain language — say what you want to be true at the end, not the steps to get there.
  • Choose how much freedom Arachne has — set a permission level that fits how much you trust the task.
  • Watch the work happen live — see Arachne read pages, navigate, and act in real time.
  • Steer mid-task — change the permission level or stop the moment you want to.
  • Review and reuse the result — get something you can open, in whichever of the eight formats fits the work, saved as an artifact you can return to.

Once you are comfortable, the same surface handles research and deep dives, building sites and apps, completing forms and multi-step flows, creating images, video, and voice, and turning routine work into saved automations.

#How to use it

Follow these steps for your first task:

  1. Open Arachne. From Nourva's main window, switch to the Arachne surface. You will work in a live view that shows what Arachne is doing as it does it.
  2. Describe the outcome you want. State the result in plain language — what you want to be true when Arachne is done. Include anything you already have: a starting link, a constraint, a deadline, a format you prefer. Be specific about the result, not the individual steps.
  3. Choose a permission level. Decide how much freedom Arachne should have:
    • Look only — Arachne reads and inspects but never changes anything. Good for a first look.
    • Plan first — Arachne proposes a plan and waits for your approval before acting.
    • Ask before acting — Arachne pauses for your permission before each change.
    • Work in your workspace — Arachne acts freely inside your project or workspace, and nothing outside it.
    • Act automatically — Arachne carries the whole task through on its own.
  4. Let it work, and watch. Arachne works in a loop — look, decide, act, verify — moving toward your goal one step at a time. You see each step in the live view. Every action is automatically checked before it is reported done, so a "done" means the outcome was confirmed, not just attempted.
  5. Steer if you need to. You can change the permission level at any time, answer when Arachne pauses for your input, and stop instantly whenever you want. Stopping always works immediately, at every level.
  6. Review the result. When the goal is reached, Arachne presents what it produced in whichever of the eight formats fits — table, chart, report, comparison, dashboard, media gallery, alert, or source pack. The result is saved as an artifact you can reopen, reuse, export, or download later.
Tip

For your very first run, start cautious — Look only or Plan first — and watch the whole thing. Seeing how Arachne moves toward your goal teaches you how to phrase the next request, and you can hand it more freedom once you trust the task.

#Tips

  • Describe the result, not the route. Say what you want to be true at the end and let Arachne find the path. The clearer the outcome, the better the result.
  • Hand over what you already have. A starting link, a constraint, or a preferred format gives Arachne a head start and keeps the work on target.
  • Watch the first run. The live view is where you learn how Arachne thinks and where you steer. Watching early runs pays off on every later one.
  • Match the level to the task. Start cautious while exploring; give more freedom for long, well-understood tasks you trust. You can change the level at any moment, and stopping always works.
